It is that time of year again when we want to recognize some of the amazing students that we work along side with! There are three (3) awards that the EAA would like to recognize. They are:
Educational Assistants Elementary Award
The Educational Assistants Association would like to recognize a Graduating Elementary Special Needs Student who exemplifies the following criteria:

The Elementary Special Needs Student:

• Meets or exceeds expectations which are within his/her potential
• Is graduating from his/her elementary school
• Is a positive role model
• Demonstrates care and concern in relationships with his/her peers and others
• Is able to apply learned skills and behaviours to life situations
• May have an ongoing involvement in extracurricular activities (school and/or community based

Educational Assistants Association Secondary Award
The Educational Assistants Association would like to recognize a Graduating Secondary Special Needs Student who exemplifies the following criteria:

The Secondary Special Needs Student:

• Meets or exceeds expectations which are within his/her potential
• Is graduating from his/her secondary school or is completing his/her final year with the Waterloo Region District School Board
• Is a positive role model
• Demonstrates care and concern in relationships with his/her peers and others
• Is able to apply learned skills and behaviours to life situations
• May have an ongoing involvement in extracurricular activities (school and/or community based)
• Demonstrates the ability to function in the community, in a field of employment and/or volunteer work

Educational Assistants Achievement Award
The Educational Assistants Association would like to recognize a Graduating Secondary Supported Student, included but not limited to Phoenix, PAL, Fast Forward, etc., who exemplifies the following criteria:

The Achievement Award Student:

• May have required emotional support
• Has persevered through adverse circumstances
• Has demonstrated responsibility and accountability during his/her high school career
• Inspires others, demonstrates courage in the face of challenges and perseveres to the best of his/her ability
• Has made positive changes in his/her life
