Workplace Violence Risk Assessment Toolkit
- Details
To my EAA colleagues:
Below please find a link to the Workplace Violence Risk Assessment Toolkit for the Education Sector, including a Violence Risk Assessment tool plus other supporting resources.
https://www.pshsa.ca/workplace-violence-education/
These resources were created by the Public Services Health and Safety Association (PSHSA) with support and input from stakeholders across the education sector and were developed to address identified gaps and leverage leading practices from across the province. They are not mandatory tools, but we developed them to support current workplace violence reduction efforts.
Kathryn, Colleen and I had the opportunity to be on the Leadership Work Group that oversaw and informed this important work. I am pleased to be sharing these resources with you so that together, we can work to reduce and eliminate workplace violence.
A Ministry of Labour guidance document on navigating violence in schools was released in March. 'Workplace Violence in School Boards: A Guide to the Law' will contain a link to the Risk Assessment Toolkit.
You can find the MOL guide here: https://www.ontario.ca/document/workplace-violence-school-boards-guide-law
Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions,
Lisa Weiler Haskins
