Correction on Approved Virtual Appointments

On our April 20th communication “dietitian” was incorrectly listed as an approved Extended Health Benefit. A “dietitian” is not covered under our plan. We apologize if this has caused any frustration or confusion. Once again, please note that guidelines around the type of services allowed as well as specific protocols in providing virtual therapy are variable by governing body, thus we strongly recommend that members speak with their professional to get clarification on the specific services they can render online.
For a complete list of approved benefits, log on to your OTIP account. The Benefits Booklet is located under the Library Tab.

Let’s Join!!! Giving Tuesday, May 5, 2020

On Tuesday, May 5th, let’s be a part of Giving Tuesday Now!  May 5th is dedicated as a global day of giving and unity as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by this pandemic.  This day of action will rally people around the world to tap into the power of human connection and strengthen our communities.  There are many great charities and organizations in our Region who are assisting with urgent and emerging community needs. The United Way has set up a Community Response Fund that supports 43 local charities https://www.uwaywrc.ca/covid-19/funded-organizations/ Canadian Blood Services encourages us to give.  Donating blood products is essential for community health and the need for blood products is constant. Find a local donation site here. https://myaccount.blood.ca/en/donate/*?gclid=Cj0KCQjw-r71BRDuARIsAB7i_QNN_USyIN0GdCc9Q5gdL0fCJs2TeuxBQKtOikfG7N3e3YSRCZHcqm4aAn79EALw_wcB We can still show social connection and come together on behalf of our communities even while practicing physical distancing.

  • Support healthcare workers by donating supplies, advocating for them, and staying home.

  • Give to the organizations that you love most – no amount is too little and nonprofits need our support.

  • Help out small businesses by buying gift cards or writing an online review.

  • Combat loneliness by reaching out to a neighbour, relative, senior, or veteran.

However, you decide to show support for your community, share it on social media using the hashtag #GivingTuesdayNow and be sure to tag the EAA. We want to see how Members are inspiring others to give even though we are apart! Use hashtag:
#EAAgivingTuesday
#EAALetsjoinin
